Tariffs and its Impact

U.S. President Donald Trump has been diplomatic during the war between India and Pakistan praising the leaders of both India and Pakistan for agreeing to ceasefire and not escalate war during this tough economic conditions time. He expressed intentions to "substantially" increase trade with both nations and offered to mediate the Kashmir dispute, humorously suggesting it might take "a thousand years" to resolve.

While Trump promises to aim at increasing economic ties, the US administration has imposed 26% tariffs on Indian goods which has impacted some Indian companies to a large extent resulting in trade imbalance in sectors like IT and commodities leading to high market volatility.

Uncertainty in Indian Markets :
Indian stock markets have stayed firm and strong, even after geopolitical tensions and trade imbalances. After the pahalgam terror attack and then military escalations, indices like Nifty 50 and BSE fell only to a very limited or normal profit booking amount, supported by regular FII buying showing high investor confidence both domestic and International.

Foreign investors have shown renewed interest, with $1.5 billion flowing into Indian equities in April and May 2025. This is a big good news for the Indian investors. For investors this is the best time in financial markets to invest there money.

Upcoming opportunities and challenges :
India's economy remains positive, with a good GDP growth. India is still negotiating with the US on the ongoing tariffs and it is possible to get a good deal, this would make India's economy more powerful and worth investing in.

However, challenges persist. The IPO market has seen a slowdown, with major listings delayed due to global economic uncertainties and geopolitical tensions. Companies like Ather Energy have faced valuation cuts, reflecting cautious investor sentiment but overall the company is strong and we can see an uprise in the coming future.
